Château de Pez, founded in the 15th century, is the oldest estate in Saint-Estèphe and has been one of Médoc's historical pillars for centuries. Now owned by the Rouzaud family (Louis Roederer), it continues to produce wines that combine fidelity to the terroir with modern refinement, featuring a style that unites strength and harmony.
The 2017 vintage presents a brilliant ruby red color. The nose releases elegant aromas of red and black fruits, currants and ripe cherry, enriched by notes of fine spices, tobacco, and a hint of graphite that underscores the character of the cru.
On the palate, it is balanced and linear, with silky and well-defined tannins supporting a solid yet elegant body. Its freshness makes it dynamic and smooth, with a persistent, mineral, and refined finish that echoes the fruity and spicy nuances perceived on the nose.
A Saint-Estèphe of great balance, already enjoyable today but capable of further refinement over the years, ideal with red meats, roasts, and aged cheeses.
