PRODUCT FEATURES

The Le Gros Mont 2016 is one of the jewels in the Larmandier-Bernier collection. It is a Lieu-dit (single vineyard) from the prestigious Grand Cru of Cramant, one of the most celebrated terroirs in the world for the quality of Chardonnay. The 2016 vintage and zero dosage make it a Champagne of absolute purity and expressive power.

Champagne Larmandier-Bernier "Le Gros Mont" 2016: The Pinnacle of Cramant Grand Cru

The Le Gros Mont 2016 is the ultimate expression of the finesse and power contained in Chardonnay. Produced in very limited quantities from a single, historic vineyard located on the Cramant hill, this Blanc de Blancs is a monument to chalk. Pierre Larmandier chose Zero dosage for this cuvée, allowing the 2016 vintage to speak with its natural voice: a combination of ripeness, tension, and vibrant minerality that only great Crus can offer.

Sensory Profile In the glass, it shines with a pale gold with emerald reflections. On the nose, it is a deep olfactory journey: it opens with notes of spring white flowers and lime zest, then reveals nuances of green hazelnut, wet chalk, and an almost marine saline touch. On the palate, it is masterful: the attack is direct, supported by a crystalline acidic backbone, but the development is broad, creamy, and textural. The finish is infinitely persistent, clean, dry, and profoundly mineral.

Signature Vinification As is traditional for Larmandier-Bernier, the grapes are grown biodynamically. Fermentation occurs spontaneously in barrels and oak casks, followed by a long aging of over 6 years on the lees in the Maison's cellars. The choice of Brut Nature (Zero) allows the aristocratic structure of Cramant to be appreciated without filters, offering a pure and uncompromising drinking experience.

Food Pairings A wine of this stature requires dishes of extreme elegance: scampi tartare with citrus, fine oysters, sole meunière, or a chlorophyll risotto with herbs and seafood. Above all, it is a meditation Champagne for those who love Chardonnay in its most noble form.
