PRODUCT FEATURES

The Rare Rosé Millésime 2008 by Piper-Heidsieck is a work of art in Champenois winemaking, a limited edition produced only in years deemed exceptional. The 2008 vintage, celebrated as one of the most iconic of the century, has bestowed upon this cuvée extraordinary tension and purity.

Rare Champagne - Rare Rosé Millésime 2008

The Rare Rosé 2008 is a jewel of balance between power and delicacy. This prestigious cuvée stands out for its mineral soul and an aristocratic structure that defies time. The bottle, adorned with the famous finely crafted golden tiara, foreshadows a content of rare preciousness. Born from the vision of Piper-Heidsieck's Chef de Caves, the Rare Rosé 2008 is a tribute to the nobility of the Pinot Noir from the Montagne de Reims, capable of delivering an aromatic complexity ranging from crisp red fruits to oriental spices, while maintaining an almost millimeter-perfect freshness.

Sensory Profile In the glass, it shines with a coppery pink color with golden reflections and an extremely fine perlage. On the nose, the attack is sophisticated: notes of lychee, wild strawberry, and rose petals intertwine with more complex hints of saffron, vanilla, and a slight smoky note. On the palate, the entry is broad and velvety, but immediately supported by a vibrant acidity reminiscent of pomegranate and pink grapefruit. The persistence is extraordinary, ending with a savory and mineral trail that enhances its absolute elegance.

Winemaking and Aging The blend is predominantly composed of Chardonnay (about 70%) and Pinot Noir (30%), with a small percentage of the latter vinified in red to provide chromatic and aromatic depth. The wine rested on its lees in the Maison's cellars for over 12 years, acquiring a silky texture and a complexity that only long time in the bottle can guarantee. The dosage is moderate, to allow the purity of the 2008 vintage to emerge in all its strength.

Food Pairings This Champagne is a regal companion for fine dining. It pairs magnificently with noble crustaceans (lobster and Sanremo prawns), Chianina beef carpaccio, or duck a l'orange dishes. The pairing with refined Asian cuisine (lightly spiced and peppery) or high-quality bloomy rind cheeses is surprising.
