La Cofradía Tequila Blanco represents the purest essence of the distillery and the terroir of Jalisco. Without aging in wood, this version expresses the full force of 100% Blue Weber agave, offering a crystalline, mineral, and vibrant profile.
La Cofradía - Tequila Blanco (100% Agave)
La Cofradía's Tequila Blanco (also known as Plata or Silver) is the starting point for all of the house's production. Twice distilled in stainless steel stills, it is bottled immediately after distillation (or after a very brief rest in inert containers) to preserve the aromatic integrity of the freshly cooked agave.
It is the ideal choice for those who want to perceive the true character of the Mexican "Lowlands": a spirit that does not hide behind sweet wood notes, but instead showcases the minerality of the volcanic soil and the plant's vegetal freshness.
Sensory Profile
-
Color: Crystalline, transparent, and brilliant, with excellent consistency (legs) in the glass.
-
Nose: The nose is an explosion of fresh and cooked agave. Strong notes of white pepper, cut grass, and a distinct minerality reminiscent of damp earth emerge. Slight citrus nuances of lime and grapefruit are also present.
-
Palate: The entry is clean and powerful. The natural sweetness of the agave is immediately balanced by a spicy warmth. The palate is refreshed by vegetal and citrus tones, with a silky structure despite the lack of aging.
-
Finish: Dry, persistent, and refreshing, with a return of peppery and mineral notes.
Production Process The agave piñas are cooked in hornos (masonry ovens) for about 40 hours, a slow process that transforms starches into complex sugars without burning them. After natural fermentation, double distillation at low temperatures ensures that the essential oils of the agave remain in the heart of the spirit.
Serving Suggestions
-
Tasting: Perfect neat at room temperature (around 16-18°C) to appreciate its purity.
-
Mixology: It is the backbone of classic cocktails. It elevates a simple Tommy’s Margarita or a Paloma thanks to its distinct mineral and peppery notes.
