The Piemonte DOC Pinot Nero "Ventura" 2024 by Avamposti is a fresh and contemporary interpretation of one of the world's noblest grape varieties, cultivated in the Monferrato hills. In this area, Pinot Noir finds particular soil and climate conditions that give it a savory note and crisp fruit, distinguishing it from the more austere expressions of other regions.

Avamposti - "Ventura" Pinot Nero Piemonte DOC 2024

The Pinot Nero "Ventura" 2024 is a wine that focuses entirely on finesse and expressive immediacy. Born from the Avamposti project, which selects specific parcels to enhance the varietal character of the grapes, the Ventura reflects a vintage characterized by excellent phenolic ripeness and impeccable acidic vivacity. It is a red that shies away from excessive extraction, preferring an aromatic transparency that highlights notes of small red berries and a delicate spice. Elegant and versatile, it represents the successful challenge of cultivating Pinot Noir in Piedmont while maintaining its proverbial agility and silkiness.

Sensory Profile Visually, it presents a delicate ruby red color, typical of the grape, crystalline and brilliant. On the nose, it offers a fragrant and clean bouquet, dominated by hints of raspberry, sour cherry, and redcurrant, enriched by a floral touch of violet and a very slight note of white pepper on the finish. On the palate, it is smooth and harmonious; the tannins are subtle and velvety, perfectly integrated into an agile structure supported by a pleasant mineral freshness. The finish is clean, with a return of wild berries that invites a second sip.

Vinification and Aging Harvesting is done manually to preserve the integrity of the bunches. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with not overly prolonged maceration to favor the extraction of primary aromas and maintain a light and elegant color. Aging primarily occurs in steel to preserve the purity of the fruit, with a possible brief stay in large wood barrels or second-passage barriques to round out the tannic texture without masking the varietal profile.

Food Pairings Thanks to its distinct elegance, it is an extremely versatile wine. It pairs perfectly with mushroom dishes, roasted white meats, Fassona beef tartare, and medium-aged cheeses. It is one of the few red wines that, when served chilled (around 14-16°C), excellently accompanies structured fish dishes such as soups, cacciucco, or grilled tuna.
