PRODUCT FEATURES

The Valpolicella DOC 2024 from Montezovo is the freshest and most lively expression of the natural amphitheater of hills surrounding Verona. The Cottini family interprets this great Venetian classic by focusing on the fruit's fragrance and a dynamic drinkability, typical of wines born on calcareous soils and caressed by the breezes of Lake Garda.

Montezovo - Valpolicella DOC 2024: The Freshness of the Territory

Montezovo's Valpolicella 2024 is a red wine that celebrates the youth and typicality of native Veronese grape varieties. Made from a skillful blend of Corvina, Corvinone, and Rondinella, this wine originates from vineyards located in hilly areas that benefit from an ideal microclimate. The 2024 vintage yielded crisp and fragrant grapes, which the winery vinified with the aim of preserving the fruit's integrity. It is a "gastronomic" red par excellence: it does not seek opulence, but finesse, offering a clean, lively, and well-balanced sip, perfect for those who love wines that can express their land of origin with simplicity and elegance.

Sensory Profile In the glass, it presents a brilliant ruby red with youthful violet reflections. The bouquet is an invitation to drink: crisp notes of morello cherry, raspberry, and small red forest fruits stand out, accompanied by delicate hints of white pepper and a light floral note of violet. On the palate, the entry is fresh and smooth; the tannic texture is subtle and well-polished, supported by a pleasant acidity that gives rhythm to the sip. The finish is savory, clean, and leaves a very pleasant fruity trail.

Vinification and Aging The grapes are hand-picked and gently pressed. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with short macerations to extract color and varietal aromas without weighing down the wine with excessive tannins. Aging continues exclusively in steel for several months; this technical choice allows the freshness and fragrance of the grape varieties to remain intact, avoiding woody interference and ensuring maximum expressive purity.

Food Pairings An extremely versatile wine, an ideal companion for Mediterranean cuisine. It pairs perfectly with pasta dishes with ragù, lasagna, tortellini in broth, and roasted white meats. It is excellent with traditional Venetian cured meats and medium-aged cheeses such as Monte Veronese. Thanks to its freshness, it can be served slightly chilled (14-15°C) even with flavorful fish dishes, such as baccalà alla veronese or tomato-based fish soups.
